As the tree ages the bark begins to peel back and reveal beautiful strips in tones of reds, tans, browns, greens and grays. This is why these shrubs are called 'ninebark', because of the amazing shades found on the trunks in the winter when the leaves have fallen.
Amber Jubilee Ninebark tree was bred in Canada and named for Queen Elizabeth's Diamond Jubilee. (She even planted a few herself!) If these are good enough for Her Majesty, you certainly need some in your yard!
